lost... Broken Shards (called Lost... -Screeching Shards- on the Revival disc, and Lost... Screeching Shards in the in-game jukebox in Shevat and Snowfield Hideout) is Disc 1, Track 23 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack and track 24 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack Revival Disc -the first and the last-. It is one of the tracks playable in the Nortune jukebox (under the option 'A Theme'), as well as in the Shevat jukebox. The melody is based on the melody at the start of Where the Egg of Dreams Hatches.
It plays as the music in the following cutscenes:
- Margie reunites with Sigurd and Maison aboard the Yggdrasil.
- Bart tells Fei to be careful before he leaves for the Kislev border.
- Fei tells Elly he thinks it's better to fight than to do nothing in Nortune.
- The doctor aboard the Thames suggests that the unconscious Fei could be treated at the hospital in the Ethos Headquarters.
- Elly explains whom she thinks her biological mother is in Solaris.
- Fei says he'll leave Elly to avoid breaking apart their family.
- Elly's father is killed by the Executioner.
- Fei carries away the injured Elly after they are defeated by Ramsus.
- The party walks away from the Elements after defeating them for the final time.
- Lacan tells Sophia he's having trouble painting (flashback).
- Chu-Chu rejoins the party from the Yggdrasil III's Gear Dock.
