Location (XC3)

Locations are places in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Future Redeemed, corresponding to relatively broad areas of the map. They are discovered by walking into them.
A player's current location is displayed in the top right of the UI, below the minimap and the region name. Locations do not appear on the menu map in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 main game, but they do in Future Redeemed. It is not possible to skip travel to locations.
Discovering all locations in a region is one of the requirements for the menu map to be completely filled in, alongside discovering all landmarks and Secret Areas. In Future Redeemed, discovering locations is an Affinity Goal, and finding all locations in a region awards the party Affinity Points.
The jingle Area Discovered plays upon discovering a location for the first time.
