Landmarks are special points in the world of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country. They serve as skip travel points. Discovering a landmark for the first time, by getting close to it, awards the player with a fixed amount of EXP, SP and Dev Points for the nation, if applicable. During some brief story moments, or if the landmark is under the Cloud Sea due to high tide, skip travel may be disabled entirely. Upon first finding a landmark, the music New Area will play.

Secret Areas/Viewpoints[edit]

Secret Areas/Viewpoints behave the same way as landmarks. However, secret areas are harder to reach than the average landmark and provide a higher amount of EXP, SP and Dev Points. Finding some of them is required to progress the story, hence being also referred as viewpoints. Upon first finding a secret area/viewpoint, the music Secret Area will play.
