Appearance and Personality[edit]
Id is a man with pale skin, orange eyes, and long, wild hair with a deep crimson colour. Id wears a red and black full armored bodysuit with yellow trims around the red part.
Id is a chaotic, hateful, and destructive individual; he often wants nothing more than the destruction of everything around him. He is very sadistic, enjoying the chaos he spreads. He is also immensely powerful, being able to take on entire armies both with and without his Gear.
Story arc[edit]
History[edit]
At the age of 4, Fei's mother Karen became the current incarnation of Miang. Aware that her son was The Contact, she proceeded to put him through numerous painful and horrifying experiments. Fei tried to tell his father about it, but he wouldn't listen. Growing more and more hopeless, Fei's pushed off all of his painful experiences onto a second personality, which became known as Id. In addition, Fei's original personality, known as the Coward hoarded all his happy memories. As such Id knew nothing but pain and misery. Later that year, Grahf appeared, seeking to take Fei as he was the perfect reincarnation of his original body, Lacan. Fei's power's went out of control and at the last minute his mother's personality broke free of Miang's and she launched herself in between Fei and a blast that was about to kill him. As a result she died. Grahf took a hold of Id, which was now Fei's dominant personality from this point forward.
Grahf trained Id as an assassin for the approximate 10 years that he had control of him. This included quelling of a rebellion in the country of Elru. As a result of Id, the country was destroyed and the Solaris army was also wiped out. 3 years before the event of the game Fei's father Khan encountered Grahf and Id. He killed Grahf and was able to successfully seal away Id into Fei's deep subconscious. As the Coward personality was also locked away this required the creation of a third personality, the present day Fei. While Grahf was able to take over Khan's body, he wasn't able to exert 100% control over it and Khan left Fei in the care of Chief Lee in Lahan Village.
Present Day[edit]
While temporarily sealed away within Fei, Id has been able to successfully break out and release his power in several instances. This particularly occurs during moments where Fei is under great stress, feels powerless, or has undergone trauma. Such incidents include:
- When Gears attack Lahan Village and kill Fei's best friend Timothy. Id emerged and destroyed the entire village, destroying all the enemy Gears except for Grahf's and killing many of his friends and neighbors in the process
- While leading an attack on Aveh on the Aveh - Kislev Border, Id emerges after Fei witnesses all of his colleagues getting killed by Vanderkaum and his Gear Dora, which had recently been powered up by Grahf. Id destroys the Dora, then easily subdues Ramsus in his Gear Wyvern. He then takes on Bart and throws the entire Yggdrasil on him, destroying it.
- While staying in D-Block of Nisan, a murder attempt is made on Fei by the subordinates of Rico. Id emerges and murders them in the Sewers at night. The murders are blamed on an innocent monster, Redrum instead.
After Fei suffers injuries in the Aquvy region from Ramsus' Gear Haishao, he is temporarily subdued, but once again emerges as Id when the party investigates the Ethos Dig Site. This time Id is triggered not by trauma, but the fact that the party is investigating Zeboim ruins and recovering Emeralda, a creation of Fei's past incarnation Kim. Id personally appears before the party and fights them, but when Wiseman shows up he is able to hold Id back while the party escapes. Id has returned back to being Fei by the time the party makes it to the Yggdrasil. While in Solaris Fei is captured and Citan purposely tries to get Id to emerge from him while being held in captivity so he can speak with him.
A "complete manifestation" of Id emerges before the entire party in Solaris after Elly's parents are killed and Miang, as the Executioner is subduing the entire party with her Ether power. Weltall transforms and on its own breaks out of the Yggdrasil and heads to Solaris. While the party escapes Id destroys the entirety of Solaris, although all important parties such as Krelian, Miang and others have escaped in time. Id then heads to the Yggdrasil and Elly heads out on her own in the Vierge to take him on. Fei's love for Elly is enough to overpower Id and he is subdued by Fei's main personality once more. Shevat fears Id's power and Fei escapes along with Elly before they can stop him. After being shot down by Ramsus, Fei meets Taura, an expert in nanomachines. Taura provides Fei with a wristband that enables him to prevent the emergence of Id. This is also installed in Weltall, upgrading it to Weltall-2. When using Weltall-2 Fei is able to exert the power of Id without Id personally coming to the forefront of his personality.
After Elly becomes Miang, Fei heads after Deus on his own and is soon found. A fourth personality of Fei's is now dominant, one that is completely shut off from the outside world. Fei is frozen in carbonite and held prisoner in Shevat. Id's power eventually becomes too powerful though and breaks out. Id seeks to reestablish contact with the Wave Existence through the Zohar, increasing his power all the further. Both the party and Wiseman head there and must battle him once more. Within his subconscious Fei converges with both Id and the Coward, seeking to converge all of his personalities. Upon rewatching the death of their mother and seeing that she was able to break through Miang's control and save him, Id relents and provides Fei with all his past memories, also sealing up all of Fei's personalities into his present day one. Fei is then able to establish contact with the Wave Existence and Weltall-2 is upgraded into Xenogears.
