The Hraesvelg is a special Skell model introduced in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition. This Skell is developed by Grenada Galactic Group[1].
In-game, it first appears during New Skell on the Block piloted by Liesel, who used it during a test flight to defeat two jaculs. Once this mission is completed, she will come with the initial version, the GD0920 Hraesvelg ST, assigned.
Unlike normal Skells, its equipment cannot be changed. Additionally, while it does have jet engines, it still needs the Flight Module before it can fly in-game.
The jet form is unlocked after Thinking Makes It So is completed: by activating flight and then pressing B, the Hraesvelg will turn into a jet.
Appearance[edit]
The Hraesvelg wields a massive curved katana in its left hand, and has large jet engines on its shoulders and back. These jet engines have designs resembling those of Buddhist prayer wheels, which also appear on the Skell's lower body.
Its vehicle form is a jet, which allows it to fly through Mira at fast speeds. The jet form's engines are all placed on the jet's tail, and are placed in a triangular formation.
