Guldo[1] are an enemy species in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. They are humanoid zombie-like creatures embedded with Core Crystals. Guldo have the rare ability to absorb a Blade's element during battle.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2[edit]
Guldo are found exclusively in the Land of Morytha. Two types of Guldo can be found, a smaller type and a much bigger type that is fought exclusively as a boss and quest-exclusive enemy.

True nature
The Architect reveals that the Guldo were originally humans from his world. It is stated that they were implanted with the technology that later led to the creation of Core Crystals, intended to replace their brain cells, so as to attain immortality. This resulted in them mutating into horrible abominations.
