Great Joe is a boss in Xenosaga Episode I - Der Wille zur Macht. He is one of the game's secret bosses.
Description[edit]
Great Joe appears hidden in a room in the upper right area of the Durandal. Jr. must be the lead party member and must blast a doorway to make him appear. Beyond Jr., the player can have any other two party members take part in the battle. The party will not be able to use an A.G.W.S. during the battle.
Strategy[edit]
Soul Crusher is Great Joe's most powerful attack, an ether attack that will hit the entire party. He will often use the Ether Cerebration on himself before this attack to increase his Ether Attack power. Once the player has gotten Great Joe down to approximately 4000 HP, he will challenge Jr. to a duel. From this point forward he will counterattack any character other than Jr. that attacks him. Upon reaching approximately 2000 HP, he will use an effect that may randomly cause attacks to heal him, and healing effects to damage him.
Upon beating Great Joe, Jr. will be provided with the Tech Attack Soul Rhapsody and the Ether Magnum Joe.
