Godfrey (グレン, Glen) is a Rare Blade in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. He can become the blade of Rex, Nia, Mòrag, or Zeke. Godfrey is an ice elemental blade who uses the Shield Hammer weapon type and is classified as a Tank. He can be obtained randomly from Core Crystals.

Appearance and personality

Godfrey is a male Blade with spiky orange hair and light blue eyes. He wears armor mainly comprised of ice, with black accents. Chunks of luminescent ice, which resembles a blue flame, juts out from the top of his head, back, arms, and calves. Two wing like chunks of ice hover to his sides. Godfrey's core crystal is in shaped like a diamond.

Godfrey is a kindhearted man with a strong sense of justice. Though Godfrey is passionate, he is not particularly bright and is often firm in his beliefs. For example, Godfrey initially is unaware the he is an ice blade, and upon being told that he is insists that the ice on his body is actually a blue flame.

Story Arc

Servant of Justice

After Godfrey has been awakened and his Affinity Chart has been progressed enough, the Heart-to-Heart Servant of Justice between Godfrey and his Driver can be viewed in Heimos's Crevasse in the Kingdom of Tantal. Godfrey marvels at the size of the Crevasse and wonders as to how it was created. He then wishes he had the strength to create such a crevasse, as it would enable him to crush all evil where it stands with his "flaming fist of justice." His driver then asks Godfrey what he means, as his fists are made of ice, and not fire. This surprises and confuses Godfrey, with him ultimately stating that his fists are not made of ice, but are in fact made of blue flames. His driver is doubtful, but Godfrey insists this is the case.
