Global Nemesis
Global Nemeses are specific enemies in Xenoblade Chronicles X fought in online Network Console Missions called Global Nemesis Missions.
Overview[edit]
Global Nemeses are powerful Ultrafauna enemies which not only have HP but RP ("Resurrection Points"): when the Nemesis's HP is reduced to zero, it is immediately refreshed to full (minus the extra amount of damage the hit dealt above what was necessary to reduce HP to zero) and the Nemesis loses one RP. Hits can also remove multiple RP if they deal more than a full HP bar's worth of damage. Effectively, the RP provides a multiplier on the total HP of the enemy. The RP value typically starts in the millions to tens of millions; defeating a Global Nemesis alone is entirely infeasible (without hacks), especially given the 8 minute time limit on Global Nemesis Missions.
The "Global" part of the name refers to the fact that the RP value is shared across all players. Once an RP is removed, it is removed for everybody who subsequently loads the Global Nemesis Mission. Players are intended to take down the immense RP of a Global Nemesis by working together.
Global Nemeses are exclusive to online missions, so they can be fought either with a player's own party or in a multiplayer squad with up to four Crosses.
Global Nemeses are considered to be "defeated" for the purpose of drops (and achievements) if their HP is reduced to zero when they are at zero RP. As such, actually getting the drops for defeating the enemy is extremely difficult. However, drops from appendages (Appendage Fragments in the Wii U version, and specific materials in the Definitive Edition) may be obtained any time the party destroys the relevant appendages, regardless of whether or not the Nemesis was defeated.
List of Global Nemeses[edit]
There are two Global Nemeses to match the two (technically three) Global Nemesis Missions:
- Telethia Plume, which appears during The Planet's Guardian (Monday) and (Friday)
- Yggralith Zero, which appears during The Final Menace
