Ft. Japser is an area in Xenogears. It located below the Nisan Cathedral before raising to the surface and was called the Royal Mausoleum prior to that.
Story[edit]
Ft. Jasper was originally a laser turret located on the Eldridge. When the Eldridge crashed, it landed on the Ignas continent and remained buried underneath the place where Nisan was eventually created. It was used as the Royal Mausoleum and eventually Roni Fatima hid his Omnigear, Andvari, here. During the game, Shakhan attacks Nisan with the goal of capturing Andvari. After his men assigned to Nisan are all defeated, Bart and the others head to the mausoleum, using the Fatima Jasper belonging to him and Margie to make their way through. They fell into Shakhan's trap, as he was hoping for them to open the way to Andvari. Upon discovering Ft. Jasper's true purpose, Bart is able to raise it to the surface and gives it its name. Shakhan promptly launches an attack, but through the power of Andvari, his forces are fought off and he flees to the Ignas Gate Cave.
Ft. Jasper is used again shortly afterwards to destroy the Gate located underneath the Ethos H.Q.. While Billy works on firing a beam from it, other party members are forced to fight off an attack from Seraphita and Tolone in their Gears, Skyghene and Grandgrowl. Before departing for Solaris, the party can later return to Ft. Japser, but cannot enter its interior.
Geography[edit]
Ft. Jasper was located below the Nisan Cathedral and considered the Royal Mausoleum before its true identity was revealed. After it raises to the surface it is located near Nisan.
