Failure and Success is a Blade Quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It can be received by helping Ellenora in Nharil Central Plaza in Alba Cavanich, Empire of Mor Ardain, after unlocking Perceval's third Key Affinity reward, and provided Nia, Tora, Mòrag, Pyra and Perceval are in the party. Completing it will unlock the third level of Perceval's Dark Serpent Special.

Quest objectives[edit]

In the backstreets of Nharil Central Plaza, Mor Ardain, speak to Ellenora.
Gather info about the nefarious goings-on in Alba Cavanich.
- Lunatheo, Arran and Cattart must be talked to to progress.
Head to Ellenora's house, located deep in the backstreets of Nharil Central Plaza, Mor Ardain.
Head to the meeting in the Old City of Teddim, Mor Ardain, late at night.
- Only at night. The Control Room Key must be found to open the Junction Control Room.
Complete the Merc Mission "Brought to Justice 1".
Complete the Merc Mission "Brought to Justice 2".
Complete the Merc Mission "Brought to Justice 3".
Complete the Merc Mission "Brought to Justice 4".
Head to Jakolo's Inn, Mor Ardain.
Head to Ellenora's house, in the backstreets of Nharil Central Plaza, Mor Ardain.
Check Ellenora's corpse in the backstreets of Nharil Central Plaza, Mor Ardain.
Gather info about the Bloody Lobsters in the Merc Mission "Unjust Organization".
In the Chairman's Room, Argentum talk to Pupunin.
- Pupunin will become unavailable at the start of Chapter 6 and will only return after the party arrives in Tantal. In his absence, Matimati will tell the party to wait for Pupunin as he is "In Indol on business".
Investigate Pupunin's den late at night on the Salvage Deck in Argentum.
Defeat the Bloody Lobsters (3) on the Salvage Deck in Argentum.
- Gale Rocke is accompanied by a Silt Driver and a Clean Driver.
Defeat the Bloody Lobsters (4) on the Salvage Deck in Argentum.
- Lethal Bradly is accompanied by Gale Rocke, a Silt Driver and a Clean Driver.

Trivia[edit]

During both fights on the Salvage Deck, the enemy Driver's Blades have a tendency to get stuck in place, usually near the arena's walls, and have their link with their Driver severed if he wanders too far away, leading to their Driver being unable to use Specials.
