Drifting Soul (Violin Version) is Disc 4, Track 16 on the Xenoblade2 Original Soundtrack and Disc 9, Track 16 on the Xenoblade Chronicles Original Soundtrack Trinity Box. It is a version of Drifting Soul, with the vocals replaced by a violin and with a shorter ending.

It plays in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 when Nia reveals herself as a Flesh Eater to the party in the Spirit Crucible Elpys. It also plays in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country, when Malos eggs on Mythra to unleash the extent of her power as they fight over The Soaring Rostrum. (In this cutscene, the longer ending from the original Drifting Soul plays instead of the Violin Version's shorter ending.)

The song is additionally used in the beginning of Pyra and Mythra's reveal trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, although it isn't included in-game.

The track is unique among the tracks on the Xenoblade2 Original Soundtrack for not having album notes.
