Dinah is a playable E.S. unit that appears in the Xenosaga series. It is primarily used by KOS-MOS.

Description[edit]

Dinah was originally developed by Kevin Winnicot as a supplementary weapon for KOS-MOS. Despite this, it was never officially registered. It was simply treated as a piece of equipment within Vector Industries to gather data for the KOS-MOS Project and its value was considered depreciated.

Dinah possesses long travel range, akin to a space cruiser and also has high speed and mobility during battle. Its ample firepower includes the X-BUSTER, made available when being operated by KOS-MOS. While it is a two-seat unit, Shion was able to handle both control of the unit and its firearms singlehandedly towards her station in the unit.

Story[edit]

Episode II[edit]

During Episode II, Dinah was being stored on the Dämmerung. When Shion seeks to head to Old Miltia, she and Allen steal it and head into hyperspace. Meanwhile on Second Miltia, KOS-MOS awakens on her own and departs on her own craft, saying Shion is calling her. Once she has caught up with Shion and Allen, KOS-MOS docks with the Dinah, forming its humanoid form (called Control Mode B). Using it, she fights off Dan and the other enemy crafts in the area. KOS-MOS uses it as her E.S. for the remainder of the game, with various other characters acting as a co-pilot.

Episode III[edit]

Despite her departure from Vector, Shion continues to possess the Dinah in Episode III, storing it on Pedea Island where she used it within the U.M.N. as part of her dealings with Scientia. Officially it had been lent by Wilhelm to the Kukai Foundation. Shion uses it to head to Fifth Jerusalem and after recovering KOS-MOS the two share pilot duties of it for the remainder of the game. Its Vessel of Anima is removed by Wilhelm on Michtam in the Underground Ruins and it is destroyed by Joshua shortly afterwards when Zarathustra goes out of control with the head being assimilated into Joshua.

In other words, yes we know it's unfinished; we just didn't want to leave it blank in the meantime. You can help complete it.
