Dillon is an NPC in Future Redeemed. He is one of Matthew's friends from the Old City. He is automatically added to the Community after fighting Moebius W in Chapter 3. After this, he can be found around Yesterdale.

Appearance and personality[edit]

Dillon is a tall, broad man with short red hair and yellow eyes. He wears Old City military garb.

Dillon is one of Matthew's closest friends, and frequently reassures him about Na'el. He is also good with children.

Story arc[edit]

Dillon is first seen in Chapter 2, when Glimmer is being interrogated by Shulk and Panacea. He recognises Glimmer's description of Matthew, and remarks that the two were in Procurement together back in the Old City. After Moebius W is fought, he is happy to reunite with Matthew, and is part of the group that accompanies the party back to Colony 9.

Dillon is seen in a flashback in which a number of (other) Old City residents leave to make a second City, although he doesn't speak.

Once the party reaches Colony 9, Matthew speaks with Dillon. Dillon says that he hasn't seen Na'el, but believes that she is still alive given how tough he knows her to be.

Dillon is later seen in another flashback in which he, Matthew, and Na'el find the remains of the group that set out to found a second City.

In a flashback at the start of Chapter 4, Dillon calls Matthew via Iris to request backup in fighting some Volffs shortly before Alpha and N clash in the City.

Dillon is seen in the ending cutscene during Matthew's send-off.

Hunt for the Kids[edit]

Dillon is seen speaking with Mickey when the party arrives, and notifies them of the situation of the missing children. The party agrees to help the two search for the children.

Once the children are found and saved from the Assailing Fogbeasts, Dillon is the one to comfort them, and escorts them home with Mickey.

Breaking Ground[edit]

The party starts the quest by approaching Dillon, who is considering the City's future surrounded by the broken Armories. He wants them to be operational for the purpose of scouting out a place for a new City, but Shulk has concluded that it would take great time and effort. He initially balks at Matthew's idea of getting other Liberators to help, as it's "a City problem", but Matthew tells him to stop thinking of the Liberators as a separate people. Dillon says that he will hold Matthew to his claim that he will get everyone's help to fix the Armories.

Dillon is later shocked and happy to see the number of people who have come to help. He relents that Matthew was right about the Liberators and the City people working together. He is seen helping to repair the Armories.

Once work is done, Dillon swears to Mickey that they won't let Moebius destroy the new City, wherever it may be. He also reassures Matthew that he and the others will keep Colony 9 safe as the party does their task.

Dialogue[edit]

After arriving to Yesterdale[edit]

Dillon
Sorry Matty, I'm a little busy right now. Can it wait?
Matthew
Yeah, no prob. You're chuggin' away too, huh? Keep up the good work!

After Hunt for the Kids[edit]

Dillon
Hey, uh, Nikol and Glimmer, was it...? How're you getting along with the Ouroboros Power?
Glimmer
About that... What *is* the Ouroboros Power, exactly?
Dillon
Ah. Well, Matthew's Blade's got the ability to draw out that power from Kevesi and Agnian soldiers, see.
Matthew
Yeah. 'Member when I decked you with that huge shockwave? That's what that was.
Dillon
I don't know exactly what makes it tick, but they say it's the culmination of research on the Ouroboros Stone.
Nikol
And that's also what released us from our Flame Clocks?
Dillon
Ah, no, that's something different. You're only free once the Flame Clock of the Ferronis you're tied to gets smashed.
Though if we keep up the research, maybe we won't even need to do that anymore...
The following interaction is the one that loops until the next condition is met:
Dillon
Mickey reminds me of you when you were just a lad, you know.
Matthew
Really...? Can you be more specific?
Dillon
I mean, like, how determined he is to get stronger. You know, like how you used to train with your grandpa Ghondor every day?
Matthew
Ah, yeah... Guess I had that phase.
Dillon
Mickey really looks up to you. Don't go disappointing him by showing him how sloppy you can be sometimes!
Matthew
Aight, enough of that! ...But yeah, I get it.

After starting Chapter 4[edit]

Dillon
I can't believe the gall of that son of a bitch. The scumbag burned the City to the ground, and he dared show his face to you...?
And then, the thing with Na'el, too... Dammit...! To hell with it all!
Matthew
Mate...
Dillon
...Sorry, I've gotta cool my head a bit. At this rate, it feels like I'm really gonna go berserk...
Matthew
...

After saving Clarity[edit]

Dillon
Haha...! So Clarity was alive... Miracles do happen.
I-I mean, she's got some real mettle! She wasn't gonna lay down that easily now, was she? I wasn't worried about her one bit!
Matthew
Dillon, oh, Dillon. Someone's not being very honest with themselves...

After completing Step by Step[edit]

Dillon
So, I heard setting up a replacement Remembrance Stone in the plaza was your idea!
Everyone's been saying how happy they are about it. Some are even calling you their new leader. How about that!
Matthew
Leader? Nah, come on, that's a bit much...
Dillon
It really isn't. You know how damn important those slabs are to us.
I always knew you were destined for greatness, you know. Looks like I was right on the mark.
So keep doing what you're doing and be the change the City folk need, eh, "Leader"?
Affinity Grew Deeper!

After raising Dillon's affinity[edit]

Dillon
Hey, did you know that our Mickey was pretty besotted with Na'el?
Matthew
...Wait, seriously?
Dillon
Swear it on the City. I knew you wouldn't notice. You're not very quick on the uptake with these things, are you?
Matthew
Huh. I guess not, no... Mickey and Na'el, eh...?
...Sorry, I'll go sort this out with him right now.
Dillon
What? Hold on! You don't mean like, socking him one or anything?!

After Breaking Ground[edit]

Dillon
I'll get the Armories prepped and ready to fly for whenever. Just to be on the safe side.
You just do what you have to do, all right, Matt?
Matthew
Sure thing, Dillon. Hold the fort for us till we're back, yeah?
Dillon
...Don't go dying someplace without me knowing.
