Crown Splitter is one of Mòrag's Megalance Driver Arts in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Overview[edit]
Being one of few Smash Arts across the game as a whole, Crown Splitter has little in the way of competition. Even if it did, however, it would likely still stand out, as it's one of the best options for inflicting Smash overall. Unlike Zeke's equivalent in Powerhouse Smash, this Art hits relatively fast, making it easier to use on a Launch, and boasts a higher damage ratio to boot. While Rex's Wing Smash will beat it just slightly in speed, the higher damage achieved by most Megalances means Crown Splitter will outperform it in almost all situations. On a Blade like Wulfric, for example, this Art is a potent tool, leading to some very strong Smashes and all the benefits they provide.
The DLC Blade Corvin, on the other hand, will generally be a better option for inflicting Smash if a player has access to him, and in New Game Plus, the Cobra Bardiche - a clone of the Megalance - is likely to outclass it with Blunt Force. Regardless, Crown Splitter is still very worthwhile, especially in an environment where these other options do not factor.
