Classes are a mechanic in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Each party Driver has a specific Class based upon the combination of ATK, HLR, and TNK Blades they have equipped. The class of a Driver appears atop their name and level in the Characters menu, and the class effects can be seen in the Engage Blades menu.
Effects[edit]
Classes affect the following:
- The damage taken by the Driver (modified by an independent multiplier; +0% for no TNK Blades, -10% for one TNK, -15% for two, -20% for three).
- The damage dealt by the Driver and Blade (modified by an independent multiplier; +0% for no ATK Blades, +10% for one ATK, +15% for two, +20% for three).
- The healing granted when they collect HP Potions (+0% for no HLR Blades, +30% for one HLR, +40% for two, +50% for three).
- The volatile aggro they draw from auto-attacks (modified by a flat additive before additional modifiers; +0 if any Blades are non-TNK, +1 for only one TNK, +2 for only two TNKs, +3 for three TNKs).
- The volatile aggro drawn from Driver Arts (modified by a flat additive before additional modifiers: +4 for each TNK Blade, -4 for each HLR Blade).
- Whether or not the Driver will run to collect HP potions when AI-controlled (occurs if at least one Blade is a HLR).
- Whether or not the Driver will switch to a Blade with a healing Driver Art if another party member is on low HP when AI-controlled (occurs if at least two Blades are equipped and at least 50% of them are HLRs).
A class is only dependent upon the combination of Blade roles, not the specific permutation. For example, having an ATK Blade in slot 1 and a HLR Blade in slot 2 results in the same class (Cavalier) as having a HLR Blade in slot 1 and ATK in slot 2.
