Ciamran, possibly Ciamran Horrison, is an NPC in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. He can be found anytime in the Throne room in Hardhaigh Palace, Empire of Mor Ardain. He can be talked to with Floren in the party, who coaxes him into giving away the Book of Knowledge with a Beguiling Charms level 3 Field Skill check.
Lore[edit]
- Ciamran is an Ardainian man and most likely one of Emperor Niall's helper.
- He is most likely from House Horrison as he was willing to give away one of the house's treasures to Floren.
Dialogue[edit]
Floren's Charm[edit]
Ciamran
That's a nice blade you have with you there.[1]
Floren
Are you referring to me by any chance?
Ciamran
Yes! May I ask your name?
Floren
I'm Floren.
Floren
...This could be my chance...
Floren's Charm activates.
Ciamran
Floren... That's a really nice name!
You look as if your gentle heart is matched with boundless talent. You look really classy...and cute.

Floren
Ahaha... Oh...if you say so...
Ciamran
I'd be really made up if a Blade like you was serving the Empire.
Floren
Oh...stop!
Floren's Charm activates again.
Floren
Ah, it sounds great, but I already have a Driver...and some responsibilities.
Ciamran
Not a problem.
I'd trade you for ten of the finest Ardainian soldiers.
We'd pay you half a million gold per year, and you'd get living expenses on top of that.
We'd give you one of House Horrison's ancestral treasures as a contract-signing fee, too.

Floren
Well, I have to agree it's an incredibly tempting offer...
Floren
Nearly got him...
Floren's Charm activates once more.
Floren
I'm a little perturbed by the lack of greenery in Mor Ardain though.
I really need to be around trees and plants, you see.

Ciamran
Huh? Really?
I guess...Mor Ardain's Titan is coming to the end of its life. We don't have the technology to slow that down, sadly...

Floren
Huh? Well, why don't you try and come up with a plan to fix the problem? Then I might reconsider your offer.
Ciamran
Understood. Well, I'll let you have House Horrison's treasure, anyhow.
I hope this will help you remember your promise to reconsider my offer.

Floren
It's OK! I'm sure it's not the sort of thing I'd be able to forget.
Floren
Huh? Yeah!
Chapter 5[edit]
Ciamran
Despite his young age, Emperor Niall is a most wise and gracious ruler.
Ciamran
It is only thanks to his efforts that was have been able to avoid open hostilities with Uraya for so long.
Thanks to His Majesty, we have kept the bloody business of war to a minimum.

Ciamran
As long as Emperor Niall is on the throne, I feel certain the peace of Mor Ardain will be safe.
Chapter 6[edit]
Ciamran
That fool Roderich! He just had to act carelessly, and look where it got us! Taken advantage of by Torna!
If it weren't for Indol's intervention, who knows what might have happened!
I suppose we'd better be thankful for that.

Ciamran
I expect the pro-war faction of the Senate will be forced to lie low for a while after this, too.
Roderich's actions were reckless and terrible, but in the end, they may have worked to our advantage.

Ciamran
I'm sure Roderich himself will not escape a harsh sentence, of course...
Chapter 8[edit]
Ciamran
We may have avoided war with Uraya, but the underlying issues have not been solved.
The fact remains that our relationship with Uraya is more strained than ever after the Temperantia incident.
At this rate, when the life of the Mor Ardain Titan reaches its inevitable end, Gormott will be our only refuge...
I would like to avoid resorting to war as much as anyone, but I am failing to envision a peaceful solution...

Chapter 9[edit]
Ciamran
Please leave the Emperor to us.
I and the Royal Guard are prepared to face the worst.
Even if we are beset by the Titans themselves, we will protect His Majesty at any cost.
In return, I can only ask that you do everything in your power to overcome the trials that face you.
For everyone's sake.
