The Cerebral Sciences Research Center, often shortened to the C.S.R.C., is a research institution from the Xenosaga series. Its former base of operations was the Acute Neurosis Treatment Facility located in Dasgupta, Miltia before it was repurposed into the U-TIC Organization and expanded operations to Labyrinthos and its surrounding facilities.

Story

History

The C.S.R.C. was originally a Vector Industries funded division of the Galaxy Federation's Zohar Research Organization on the planet Michtam. However, shortly before the planet's destruction in T.C. 4747, Patriarch Sergius XVII had the C.S.R.C., as well as the Zohar, moved to the planet Miltia. Sergius had also appointed a resident of Michtam, Joachim Mizrahi, as the new head of the institution. As the new leader of the C.S.R.C., Mizrahi made a plethora of scientific advances, many involving the Zohar and the Gnosis phenomenon, including but not limited to the creation of environmental bugs, the D.S.S.S., and the Hilbert Effect. During this time, much of Mizrahi's research efforts also went into finding a cure for his daughter, Sakura's central nervous system disorder. In the event of Sakura's death, Mizrahi's research took a turn for the extreme. Rather than finding a cure for his daughter's illness, he searched for a way to bring her back to life. As the political climate in Miltia grew more tense, the Federation's control over Mizrahi's research tightened and, in response, the Patriarch had the C.S.R.C. converted into the U-TIC Organization, promptly removing nearly all Federation officials from the staff.

As the U-TIC Organization

Over time, U-TIC became a more militarized group as former officials of the Miltian Hierocracy joined its forces, leading the coup efforts of Miltia against the Federation. As a result, it became the leading force opposing the Federation during the Miltian Conflict in T.C. 4753.

After the Miltian Conflict, U-TIC went into hiding and became an extremist organization acting as the military arm of Ormus, now led by Ormus' Chief Inquisitor Margulis. It wasn't until T.C. 4767 (the events of Episode I and Episode II) that U-TIC was forced back into the public's perception.

The research institute where Joachim Mizrahi worked as chief scientist, before the U-TIC Organization was established.

It is a unique institute which combines neuroscience with phenomenology, and aside from the fact that it was sponsored by Vector Industries, there is very little known about it.

Episode III

C.S.R.C.

A specialized laboratory integrating neurology and phenomena physics.

The Cerebral Sciences Research Center is headed by Joachim Mizrahi.

A specialized laboratory, established under Vector sponsorship, that integrated cerebral neurology and phenomena physics. It was the site of both Original Zohar analysis and Gnosis research. The unique nature of its research caused it to be treated as a fringe element by many, but the center's accomplishments included environmental bugs, the D.S.S.S., and the Hilbert effect.

In order to analyze the Original Zohar, Joachim reconstructed Lemegeton (which was being stored by Vector) and began design work on the Song of Nephilim and the U-DO System. He also produced specialized Realians known as transgenic types for use as body donors during the design process.

Afterwards, a plan was unfurled to use the Zohar as a weapon and energy source. Jurisdiction was transferred from Vector to the Federation government, and it became the U-TIC Organization, a group under direct governmental control.
