Captocorn Peak is an area in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, spanning the upper part of the Aetia Region.
Geography[edit]
Captocorn Peak is like a mountaintop — high, covered with snow, and with a long fall down. However, the actual geology less resembles a mountain and more a series of isolated paths, each dozens of metri wide but with nothing supporting them below. As such, open space on the peak is limited.
The northernmost point of the peak is Captocorn Pass, which links to the Cadensia Region. Heading south, the path forks. The east path leads to Tsang Road, which has finger-like appendages branching off to the south and which leads to the Tsang Camp. Further south, the path reaches Colony Omega and its Colony Omega Camp, and eventually the Gava Junction where the path rejoins the western route. Said western route from Captocorn Path becomes Piula Path, which temporarily splits as it heads south and southeast and becomes Ladras Way. The Ladras Way also extends far to the northeast, past Ladras Camp, eventually reaching the Altar of Reception and the Cloudkeep. Otherwise, the Ladras Way continues east until it reaches the Gava Junction.
South of the Gava Junction, the path slopes downward. Everblight Plain and Yzana Plains can be seen far below off the eastern edge of the path; a trail of hovering collectibles highlights a spot where a plucky adventurer can jump all the way down into Riccalo Pond. If not, the path becomes covered and splits to the west, reaching the Nocclia Mire which is traversable via the Hazard Neutralization skill. Through the mire is the initial site of Colony 0. The main path continues further south and down, past climbable vines, becoming grassy and reaching Coolley Lake in Melnath's Shoulder.
