Story arc[edit]

History[edit]

Canaan is a Realian that was created by Vector Industries. He is assigned to Helmer during the Miltian Conflict. Although Realians have gone out of control on Miltia due to the Song of Nephilim, Wilhelm has given Helmer his personal guarantee that Canaan won't be affected. Canaan is assigned to head down to Miltia using the E.S. Asher and retrieve any U.R.T.V.s that he is able to. He is assigned chaos as his co-pilot. He is initially hesitant to have chaos come along, mistakenly believing him to be a normal human who wouldn't be able to pilot it. The two of them head down to Old Miltia, fighting off U-TIC forces along the way. The two of them meet Jin Uzuki, who accompanies them until they fight Margulis. At that point they split up, although Jin provides Canaan with data he has recovered that he believes will reveal who is behind the Miltian Conflict. Canaan and chaos later recover Junior and Nigredo.

Episode II[edit]

In the present day, Canaan meets with Helmer on Second Miltia, who tells him that Jin was operating under his command. Canaan wondered whatever happened to him. Helmer requests his assistance in picking up Junior, MOMO and the others at the Space Port. When Junior and the others are attacked by Richard and Hermann, and then Pellegri, piloting Issachar, Canaan arrives in Asher to fight them off. He sees chaos for the first time since 14 years ago but doesn't say anything to him and takes off. When Albedo opens up the path to Old Miltia, Canaan accompanies Jin on the Elsa, hoping to head down to Old Miltia and review the data implanted in him. Via the main terminal in Labyrinthos they are able to uncover the involvement of Ormus in the conflict.

Special enhanced memory model Realian.

A special enhanced memory model Realian on loan from Vector to Second Miltia.

He possesses hand-to-hand battle capabilities superior to those of combat Realians; in this case, however, those abilities are better suited for use as an E.S. pilot, rather than in battle.

Canaan was installed with Program Canaan, and the recording component ("personality") used was that of Lactis, a subordinate of Ziggy during his time as a Federation Police officer.

From the fact that Canaan's memories of the Federation Police returned even after the recording component had been reformatted, it was deduced that the memories and consciousness of Realians exist, like humans#, within the realm of the collective unconscious.

The special characteristics of Program Canaan allowed him to secure a bypass route to Wilhelm's power. Canaan, cleverly using Voyager's desires, connected Voyager's consciousness with that power, causing Voyager to overflow, and destroying him along with Canaan's own body.

Early-era Realian posted to the Federation Police.

Early-era Realian posted as a test model to the Federation Police 1875th Special Ops Command.

Built to look like a human youth. He specialized in collecting and analyzing data for the U.M.N.; his responsibilities as a special forces member focused on those strengths.

Furthermore, Lactis was one of the early-era Realians that had been installed with Program Canaan. Although the true purpose of Program Canaan is unknown, it appears to have been a system thought up by Wilhelm as a way to detect people with a special "trait" which would allow them to become a Testament.

As a result of Project Canaan's top secret development within Vector, even its development process is unknown; absolutely no materials remain concerning it.

Because the Program is built into the base system within the brain stem at the construction phase, even the Realian in question is unaware of its presence.

It can be decuced that Lactis himself was unaware of the fact that he carried Program Canaan within his body.
