Brionac
Brionac is a rebel organization of the Empire of Mor Ardain in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It is an organization of Ardainian nationalists, including a number of former soldiers. Their aim is to overthrow Emperor Niall, as they disagree with his peace-oriented policies, and install a new emperor of their choosing to the throne.
Lore[edit]
Brionac most likely formed after Niall became Mor Ardain's emperor. Due to him striving to achieve peace rather than to try and conquer more territories, many nationalistic Ardainians, some of whom were soldiers in the army, defected to Brionac. The organization may also be supported by a radical faction within the Imperial Senate, which would explain its slowness in taking action against the rebels, and the resources they possess. As such, they were able to secure a base near the capital, the Brionac Occupied Zone, and Titan weapons such as Archelon and Cetus.
Throughout quests involving them, they are able to come close to assassinating the emperor during a training exercise, during Newt Recruits. They were also able to successfully assassinate a senator, Sandra Arascain, who wanted to make a proposal to the senate to take action against their organization.
Members of another organization, Lindwurm, were able to infiltrate them with the goal of wiping them out, since they are still a part of the Empire despite being rebels. One such agent is Stulc Arascain, a senator, who fed both false and true information to Brionac. He also sent the party to defeat the organization's leaders in an effort to weaken the rebels. Brionac is definitively wiped out when Stulc tells its remaining members to launch an attack on the capital, as it is unguarded at the time, leading the party to launch a counter-offensive, defeating its remaining leaders in the process.
