Blow-down is a property of some attacks in Xenoblade Chronicles and Future Connected. An attack that inflicts blow-down causes its target to be launched into the air and fall back down, which is a very long and disruptive effect. Blow-down has the potential to blast fighters off edges, and so is very dangerous around cliffs. It is essentially a more potent form of knockback.

In addition to potentially scattering the party away from each other, blow-down can also inflict daze after the victim lands if it is strong enough. The duration of the daze increases with the level of the blow-down.

There are no party member arts that can inflict blow-down on enemies, and using Reflection shows that all enemies are immune to it. Good Footing gems can resist the effect, as can Dunban's Solid Foundation skill. It is not a status or debuff, and so bypasses any status or debuff resistance/immunity.

The relative power of each blow-down level is as follows. Units for movement power are unclear.

Being hit by blow-down will remove any existing topple or daze. It will also cancel Sharla's Cool Off or Drive Boost auras.

In the Definitive Edition, blow-down now sends characters straight up, rather than diagonally. This makes it much less likely to be knocked off a cliff or into dangerous terrain.
