Black Mountains - Valak Mountain/Night is Disc 9, Track 8 on the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Original Soundtrack and Disc 20, Track 8 on the Xenoblade Chronicles Original Soundtrack Trinity Box. Black Mountains - Prison Island/Night is a version of this track with more instrumentation, in particular more electric guitar.
It is the area theme for the the lower sections of the Black Mountains during the night. The track smoothly transitions to the equivalent part of Black Mountains - Prison Island/Night when using the Ether Slide to Prison Island, and vice versa when taking the slide back.

「黒い山・監獄島/夜」の弦、 プラス、 スリーリズムを省いたアレンジで、 野口明生さんのピアノとシンセサイザーがメインの曲です。 弦やブラスを入れるか迷いましたが、 省いた方がより凍えるようなイメージに近いと個人的に思いました。 監獄島の方には入れましたが、 結果的にそうしてよかったです。 今回の楽曲制作では前作の音楽(特にゲーム後半あたり)を参考にさせていただきましたが、 この曲は特に『ゼノブレイド』の世界観を意識していたと思います。 シンセサイザーって奥深いですね......。
