Black Mountains - Prison Island is Disc 9, Track 9 on the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Original Soundtrack and Disc 20, Track 9 on the Xenoblade Chronicles Original Soundtrack Trinity Box. Black Mountains - Valak Mountain is a version of this track with less prominent drums and bass guitar.
It is the area theme for Prison Island during the day. The track is smoothly transitioned into from the equivalent part of Black Mountains - Valak Mountain when using the Ether Slide to Prison Island, and vice versa when taking the slide back.

『新たなる未来』のラストダンジョン曲を私が書いて良いのだろうか･･････と恐れ多い気持ちを抱えながらも書かせていただきました。 ゼノギアスアレンジアルバム「CREID」に収録された「MELKABA」という曲を最初に思い浮かべながら書き始めましたが、途中からもしかして違う….....?と方向性の迷子に陥った挙句、 「ゼノと は何か」と自問自答を繰り返すうちに、 試行錯誤を重ねて今の形まで落ち着きました。 その名残か、気づけば尺が5分近い長さになってしまいました。
