Skell Type Medium
Overdrive Type Legion

The Ares 90 is a Skell in Xenoblade Chronicles X. This Skell is very powerful, but requires a high level to use and large amounts of extremely rare Materials.

This Skell comes pre-equipped with powerful weapons, which are heavily integrated into the frame. As a result, the Skell's equipment cannot be changed. However, the Skell Augments can still be changed to strengthen it.

Appearance[edit]

In its base colors, the Ares 90 is all black. It has an angular design with an 'X' on its chest, as well as wheels on the back of its feet and next to its head. When it flies quickly, its wake resembles two wings stretching out from its back.

In its vehicle form, the two wheels on its back are placed together while the two wheels on the back of its feet form the rear wheels.

Sources[edit]

This Skell's blueprint is unlocked when Chapter 12 is completed. The Skell itself needs to be crafted using that blueprint.

While this Skell does require two Golden Yggralith Hearts in the Wii U version, which are online-exclusive, those materials can still be obtained at a cost of 1,272 Reward Tickets.

Trivia[edit]

  • In the Wii U version, the Ares 90 cannot jump. The Flight Module is required to begin Chapter 12, and the Ares 90 is only available after completing said chapter, so there is no situation where the player can own the Ares 90 without having flight unlocked (which replaces the ability to jump). The Definitive Edition grants the Ares 90 the ability to jump by no longer having flight disable it.
