Almadel, also known as the Maiden of Grimoire or Grimoire's Little Girl and referred to as Nephilim by Grimoire Verum, is a Transgenic Type Realian in Xenosaga: A Missing Year.

Appearance and personality[edit]

Almadel has the appearance of a young, blonde, Caucasian girl. Her eyes shift between a bright yellow that's typical for a Realian, and a dim blue. She wears a navy blue, mid-length dress with white trims at the bottom, black tights, black shoes, and thin blue ribbons to tie up her hair.

Almadel is characterized as a fearful and deeply traumatized girl, having lost much of her memory and experienced various forms of experimentation from the custody of the U-TIC Organization. She is fearful of Jin Uzuki due to the physical resemblance he bears with his father Suou Uzuki, but finds comfort and safety in Shion Uzuki and Juli Mizrahi. Having forgotten her name and memories, she serves Grimoire on the false promise that he will help her recover what she has lost.

Trivia[edit]

  • Almadel is named after Ars Almadel, one of five books included in The Lesser Key of Solomon (also known as the Lemegeton), an anonymously authored grimoire on sorcery, mysticism, and magic compiled in the 17th century. Ars Almadel, on its own, details instructions on the creation of a wax tablet with the intended use of contacting angels.
  • Almadel's Japanese voice actress, Ayako Kawasumi, also voices Theory in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
